Here is the 4th edition of Alps Epic in Haute-Alpes. We are really proud and happy to come back in places where we build the legend and the identity of this race four years ago. You will enjoy the amazing trails and views in Serre Chevalier Valley. You will ride authentic mountain passes in Queyras Guillestrois, climb the Vars ridges and enjoy a king of Magic un Serre Ponçon. That’s why it will il be a great event. Welcome in the Alps Epic.

Lunch : Gand Opening ceremony
Afternoon : PROLOGUE in de Serre-Chevalier resort - About 10 km.
Saturday June 22th : Serre Chevalier resort / Serre Chevalier resort
Stage #1: 58km / 2200mD+ / 2200mD-
As we did in 2016 during the 1st edition, we are back in Serre Chevalier Valley. Start from Serre Chevalier Resort for a beautifull mountain bike tour crossing Vallée de la Clarée, Cerces lake, Ponsonnière montain pass and back to the resort riding the iconic Chemin du Roi. 75% of singletracks for an awesome and spectacular stage.
Sunday June 23th : Serre Chevalier-Briançon / Eygliers.
Stage #2 : 74km / 3000mD+ / 3500mD-
From Serre Chevalier resort it’s time go to ride one of the Hautes-Alpes gems aera, named Queyras. You will ride to chalets de Clapeyto and then comes the highest point of the day with Col de Furfande. Here comes a nice descent to go Col Garnier. To finish, just enjoy the thrilling singletrack linking Eygliers and its lake. History is watching you riding above Montdauphin rampart, the UNESCO classified Vauban heritage.
Monday June 24th : Eygliers / Embrun.
Stage #3 : 50km / 1950mD+/ 2000mD-
This a classic course following part of the GTHA (Great Crossing of Hautes-Alpes permanet track). You wil ride amazing balcony trails overhanging Durance river till you arrive in Serre Ponçon lake. Take time to have a swim…
Tuesday June 25th : Embrun / Vars.
Stage #4 : 58km / 3000mD+ / 2000mD-
Quite a big elevation on this stage wich finishes in Vars, one of the well known ski resort in Hautes-Alpes. The first ascent to reach Col de Valbelle is the longest climb of the week. Take your time if you want to enjoy the fabulous downhill crossing forest and high alpine landscape. Enjoy the view when you are in Martinat ridge. Then comme Risoul to finish in Vars after a crazy final part. This is mountain bike, for sure !
Wednesday June 26th : Vars / Saint-Véran.
Stage #5 : 71km / 3100D+ / 2900mD-
Last one to go back to Queyras and finish in Saint-Véran, the Europe highest village. From Vars, riding ascending before you dive in Val d’Escreins to join Guillestre. Then uphill again to reach Ceillac and climb again to Col Fromage. If you want authentic mountain bike, you will love to ride the last part via Saint Simon and Molines-en-Queyras. Then go to Saint-Véran to finish your ride and enjoy a crazy after race party with great Hautes-alpes around you.
